With the latest Samsung technology, you can now enjoy football in more ways than ever. As well as astonishing picture and sound quality, your new TV can also access the internet to provide you with all the latest up-to-date news on your favourite team. This is thanks to a new Samsung feature called Internet@TV – currently one of a raft of new technologies on the 8000 and 7000 Series Samsung TVs.
By purchasing a Samsung 7 or 8 Series TV, you’ll have one of the first TVs in the world to be fully internet ready. You’ll need to hook it up to the web, of course, which is easy. The neatest way is to buy the optional dongle, insert it into its socket and the TV will connect wirelessly with your home network. The other option is simply connecting the TV to your router with a cable, via its Ethernet socket. Once you’ve got it hooked up to your network, you can start taking advantage of the brilliant service that is Internet@TV.
Internet@TV is essentially a system of convenient and easy-to-use widgets. The number of available web content through this service will rise very quickly, but there’s plenty to play with already.Yahoo is a central part of this service, with a whole host of Yahoo widgets – allowing you to catch totally up-to-the minute news from your favourite club, as well as real-time reports from games up and down the country. And as well as all this, you can use Internet@TV to check the latest weather reports, so you’ll know whether you need to take the waterproofs to Saturday’s away game.
Internet@TV is not just about news, either. You can also use it to browse all your photos on the Flickr website: admiring your footballing-photographic prowess on a screen with the Samsung’s rich colours and precise detail will be an experience you won’t forget.
And, if you’ve ever uploaded any of your amateur football videos to the net, you’ll be glad to hear there’s a YouTube widget included, so you can enjoy all the short videos you want without having to turn from your Samsung TV and flick the PC on.All in all, Internet@TV is helping the TV to become the slick, convergent, 21st century device you’ve always wanted. And with it, Samsung presents you with a way to get all the football news, info, pictures and clips you want – whenever you want them.
